When Two Evils Meet: Sexual Abuse and Drug Abuse

In September 2025, we at FEECA teamed up with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for a Drug Abuse Sensitisation Programme — and it turned out to be one of our most impactful sessions this year.

With over 100 participants in attendance, we had real conversations about the connection between sexual abuse and drug abuse. Many survivors turn to drugs as a way to numb pain, while others fall into abuse because of substances that impair judgment or control. Either way, both issues are deeply connected and damaging.

Together with NDLEA representatives, we discussed prevention, healing, and how communities can step in early to help. It was inspiring to see young people so eager to learn and share their thoughts.

At FEECA, we believe awareness is the first step to healing. We’ll keep showing up, one programme at a time, until every child and young person can live free from abuse and addiction.
